Bengaluru (erstwhile Bangalore), the capital of Karnataka, has a history of over four hundred years, having been founded by Magadi Kempegowda in the year 1537 AD. With its strategic location as well as congenial climate, fertile land & adequate rainfall has grown steadily in its area.

The history of municipal governance of Bangalore dates back to 1862, when nine leading citizens of the city formed a Municipal Board under the Improvement of Towns Act of 1850. Later, a similar Municipal Board was also formed in the Cantonment area of the city. The two boards were legalised in 1881, and functioned as two independent bodies called the Bangalore City Municipality and the Bangalore Civil and Military Station Municipality.

Post-Independence, the two Municipal Boards were merged to form the Corporation of the City of Bangalore in 1949. In January 2007, the Karnataka Government issued a notification to merge 100 wards of the erstwhile Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) with seven City Municipal Council (CMCs’), one Town Municipal Council (CMC) and 111 villages around the city to form a single administrative area and the body was renamed 'Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike' (BBMP) in 2007.

Here are three options put forward for consideration for area development.

Smart Networks:
Every street in Bengaluru shows up dangerously hanging cables, many of these are illegal and does not have any permission or clearance. This makes every street literally a spider web creating a trap for the citizen’s life.
The Smart Networks shall have common shared wireless infrastructure independent of service provider for retail broad band & also all the street should have a pre-laid standard piping for the purpose of utility service such as optical cables, gas piping etc.

Smart traffic management:
We have near about 80% mobile users in Bengaluru. With increase in population in the cities all our Bengaluru is becoming congested with heavy traffic and increased traffic become a major problem for the development and growth opportunities. In managing the city traffic we do not have a dynamic, statistic based traffic management system but depend on human resources which are subjected to fatigue, error and miss-management. As a result a cascading effect of traffic jam

#Ward192,BegurRoad
The main road and nearby area roads are in a very very bad shape. Please arrange a good quality road, instead of mere patches. There are no street lights. The area has seen very fast growth and needs these basic facilities.

Tech parks are gobbling big space, they make it concrete jungle blocking rain water entry in to earth, ask them implement Rain water harvesting and ask all the tech part to increase the green cover instead of planting these desert Palm tree.Mall and Tech park need to generate atleast 10 to 15% of the peak hour power demand using renewable energy sources, energy audit malls, techpark to move to energy efficient LED lamps.Lot of lakes filled with dirty and polluted, clean them to improve water table

a) BBMP doesn't know the engineering for laying roads, there is no scientific approach on road merge or exit,Like Thailand implement U-turn bridges every 1 Km.Let merge be non-blocking of on coming traffic.
b) Ask all tech parks to invest on entry and exit ramp, join should be smooth.
c) create separate lane for two layers, most of accidents happen to tow wheeler crazy driving
d)Roads are laid over without removing the old tar, in some place the median and road are in same plane.

Few ideas about improving Bengaluru
a) Revamp BBMP, there is no accountability.Roads can withstand even one rain. Money is spend on relaying good roads, instead of bad ones
b)One fear of traffic violation, monitor and penalize traffic violaters
c)Work with Railway to use existing railway infrastructure to run local run, to decongest outer ring road mess , ITPL. Create Marathahalli station and complete hoodi station
d) Ensure there is footover bridge for Pedestraints to cross roads

#BMTC is the lifeline for #Bengaluru Transport. But BMTC lacks efficiency in time management because of bad traffic due to vehicles number surge.
Adoption of BRT(BusRapidTrasnport) system in traffic prone Roads wil b good 4 Public transport users as well as #BMTC. Wid dedicated road for BMTC,it can improve interms
of time efficiency wic wil help BMTC to attract more passengers.
Ex:If BRTS s introduced 4m Hebbal-Silkboard where traffic of two wheelers are more, it will help public trans users

As citizens and for our leaders, the focus should be on providing basic infrastructure. Clean drinking water, roads, UGD's etc. Lets improve the condition of the government hospitals and incentivize the doctors willing to serve the public.
