Mahatma Gandhi' s vision was far behind any bar of boundary of faith and religion. He was such a great human being with noble soul. His heart was filled with love and sorrow, unlike he gave us freedom but also his thought reflect a strong and humble nation with its core values, so be proud on him that he is truly father of our nation.

Bapu's teaching and their relevance in today's time
1. Forgiveness and non violence :- As a society we becoming more violent, impatient and intolerant. Every day newspapers are full with such news Husband killed wife, wife murdered husband, road rage incidents , sr.student killed another kid. Majority of such incidents can be avoided if we have virtue of forgiveness. Need to put strong checks on movies, print media, mobile games and even food that we eat. Our thoughts are what we eat and read.
It's hypocrisy to talk about Gandhiji and not follow what he has taught.
We talk about his nonviolence but practice violence in words and deeds.
We talk about his austerity but indulge in luxaries.
We talk about his commitment to truth, but lie all the day.
We talk about his dedication to India but we don't live for our country.
We talk about his exceptional self-control but pursue pleasure is senses.
He loved and lived Indian culture, but ape western trash.
Let's be true to ourselves.
