Corporation of Chennai is preparing a proposal towards Smart City Challenge which would include city wide smart urban solutions as well as identification of areas within the city for its implementation.

The proposal would be defined primarily based on voice of Chennai residents. An extensive citizen engagement programme is established by Corporation of Chennai to document the views and concernsfor the same.

Residents may post their opinion and ideas on civic services such as transport, parking, water supply, sanitation, energy, housing, IT solutions, health, education, safety and security. Your views, opinion and solutions on urban issues faced by Chennai would not only support a better tomorrow for Chennaites, it will also make Chennai a strong contender for getting shortlisted as one of the first 20 cities in India to implement Smart City Solutions in Phase 1.

Chennai citizen and community is its biggest strength. Let’s participate to make this proposal inclusive and meaningful for every common man, every citizen.

Flyovers at busy traffic junctions is a must in I.T.Corridor and the proposed elevated road should be taken on the banks of "B" canal.

Rain water in all the roads should have RWH facility as most of the rain water is wasted without saving and if RWH is taken up in all the roads Chennai water problem will be solved.

Solinganallur/Medavakkam will be the idal place and this is the hub of the Chennai after city expansion. This will ensure the fast growth of Chennai as south & West are the places where Chennai can grow..and it is IT corridor and all youngs around...

Sholinganallur!!
1)T-Nagar & Mylapore are saturated areas in Chennai with not even an inch of freespace.Whereas Shols still has huge vacant lands,so smartcity funding can turn to real developments only if Sholinganalur is selected.
2)OMR is the most preferred destination for huge investments & whitecollar jobs in Chennai.Sholinganalur being the crux of OMR,developing here means more percapita &GDP to entire TN. Also the area being far from city, this would inturn expand & decongest Chennai.

I would like to vote for mylapore as it is in the heart of chennai..a development in this region will campaign a development in the supporting areas and subsequently to farther regions..and development here would increase tourist attraction..since mylapore connects north with south chennai, it would result in better connectivity and reduce traffic congestion..if it has to reach the downtrodden people directly, I bet mylapore is the best option..bt a really fair decision would be entire chennai
