The TRAI has issued a consultation paper on 27.11.2019 on “Transparency in Publishing of Tariff Offers”. Considering the dynamics of the telecommunication sector, consumer ...
The authority published a consultation paper after receiving significant number of complaints from individual consumers on lack of transparency in disclosure of tariff information. The regulator said dynamics of the sector have been impacted in the recent past as it has undergone a phase of consolidation having implication on the competitive landscape.
Indian telecom sector is messed up. Governments always used spectrum auction as key revenue but ignored the facts that how 15 odd Telcos eventually becoming 3 , rest washed out for various reasons , huge losses are written off. Now the tariff strategy is like incumbent and Govt Telcos are just following each other. An increase of 50 paise fetches crores with average 20 crore user base. My suggestions are 1. Keep lowest tariff for std voice services 2. Charge more for premium/enterprise services
