With a dramatic growth in elementary education enrolments and improvements in retention and transition rates in recent years, particularly amongst the more disadvantaged groups, there is an increasing pressure on the secondary schools to admit more students. With the enforcement of RTE Act and further improvement in retention and transition rates, demand for secondary schooling will grow rapidly in the coming years. The objective of this discussion group is to assess to what extent we have made quality education available, accessible and affordable to the target population in the age group of 14–18 years. How we can increase access to post elementary education across the country in a manner so as to ensure no child is denied the opportunity of completing his/her school education. In particular, how can we address the geographical and social disparities in secondary education?

As all know there is reservation category at every steps of Indian life, even the noble profession HEALTH SCIENCE education, MAHARASHTRA has 53% category reservation, above MARATWADA, VIDARBHA reservations.
This reservation category should increase to 80% to 90% & the rest for the richer class so that there are more reservation category & richer class students. the middle class to search education to other countries and serve then.

First of all what is education. It is understanding about social life culture and so on our civilization. The main aim of education is development of brain so that students after there studies can do something.Today's education is not a healthy sign for students.I gave 10th exam this year I saw that all students running howling in the class room Teacher was just seeing all were copying All year some students worked very hard and came to give exam But by seeing the students copying they also copyed

Youth of the nation needs 2 b explained the challenges of our nation such as huge debt, weak currency, current deficit, rising population, internal cracks & corruption due 2 increased insecurity. They need 2 b explained that nation needs their sacrifice for future of our next generation. They need to set example of honesty, hard work, team work, fair competition, unity & workplace ethics by their behavior. We respect outsiders but keep national interests & unity above everything wherever we work

We need to prepare our children for the fast changing India. FIIs are coming in with money & people with different objectives. Young generation needs to understand that this money is for the growth of country. Do not sell yourself. Understand what is right and ethical ways and follow. Do indulge in cut throat competition because we are more and positions are less. Ultimately, we all are working for same common goals. If someone tries to initiate cracks among Indians by various means, understand

We can't fight simultaneously on all fronts. 1st focus should be on accessibility.

Only a fraction of children have access to quality education that empowers them to compete with the best. RTE only redistributed that resource & did nothing to increase it, the no. of children outside that exclusive zone remained as it was.

We need more low cost schools that are = or better than existing top schools. We can use IT & there should be 1 national standard in science/maths/commerce.

For poor families, children are source of earning and thats why they dont send them to school.

But, if schools could provide skill based education (teaching Modern Agriculture techniques, Stithing clothes, repairing mobile etc) where even the children could earn something in the learning process will encourage parents to send their children to schools. It will definitely enhance outreach.

There is definite rise in enrollment ratio as far as primary schooling is concerned. For extending outreach of secondary and higher secondary education we can have following strategy..
