Give suggestions on Imposition of ban on use of Plastic Carry Bags/Cups/Plates and allied items in Chandigarh

Start Date :
Dec 22, 2015
Last Date :
Jun 01, 2016

Taking serious note of the latest decision of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Chandigarh Administration has speed up the enforcement of ban imposed on the use of polythene ...
1) Ban manufacturer
2) penalize seller who uses it
3) promote use of cloth bag / khadi bags / designer bags
Stop manufacturing plastic bags of any size, plastic cups, thermocool plates. Do not leave it to citizens and other authorities to monitor which is impractical and will lead to corruption. Stop manufacturing it. This is the only way. We have seen many technical bans like plastic bags upto size 20 micron etc. Such acts will fail. Take bold steps to stop manufacturing these items.

Everyone should start bringing clothed bag wherever they go to bring goods and recycle poly bags as possible
1) Reduce tax on alternative options such as Jute bags, Paper bags, etc...
2) Encourage recycling of plastic instead of burning them.
3) Stop importing of plastic carry bags.
To carry kitchen items like sugar, spices ,grains ,rice in small quantity must be delivered on paper packets (thongha), It was in custom to sell items during 80 decades, It will promote small employment in rural and sub urban area, as well as to guard against eco- problems|.
The use of plastic bags can be reduced only if Shopping malls and outlets replace them with eco-friendly bags. Malls are charging for plastic bags which consumers do not mind paying. It would be ideal for Shopping malls and outlets to use eco-friendly bags instead. Fancy eco-friendly bags can be manufactured too, as part of Make in India initiative which can be customized as per vendors logos and design/marketing requirements.
