One of the important aspects of Preventive medicine is Health education. There are mainly 3types of health education viz.Interpersonal communication, mass media and group disscussion. In these the govt is already able to achieve mass media level of health education through TV,radio, newspaper, etc. But the field of inter personal communication remains mostly untapped. But we can achieve this through the telephone, mobile phone, etc.For example there is a child born in a hospital and his parents have taken a birth certificate. In the registration for that birth certificate if we include taking the mobile no. of the parents then we can remind those parents about various vaccines to be given to the child based on the date of registration of birth certificate and calculating the exact time from that date. For example the birth certificate was registered on 01-11-2015.The vaccine for measles is to be given after 9 months of birth. There is a chance that that the parents can forget that even if the doctor writes that in the file given to them. But the govt. can remind them after 9 months of registration of birth certificate through phone call or SMS.The whole system can be linked to National immunization schedule and it can be computerised.Even the phone call can be made through IVRS.

This is only an example for immunization.Imagine what could be done for other diseases as well.A person above 45yrs automatically gets a call on his/her mobile and advised to get checked up for diabetes, hypertension, etc.A woman aged 15-45yrs gets a call to get checked up for HPV infection and and carcinoma cervix since she is in the high risk group.
