One of the important endeavors of the present government has been to improve the 'Ease of Living'. In simple words, this means that the citizen-government interface, in matters of daily routine, must be made as seamless as possible and as citizen friendly as possible. Among other things, this has translated into reforming many rules and regulations and in an overwhelming number of cases completely doing away with such antediluvian rules which had not only outlived their utility, but in many cases were frankly anti-people. The mandate has been clear - between the citizens and the governments, the rules and processes must defer to ensuring the ease of living of citizens.

Consider for example the earlier rule of seeking gazetted officers attestation to validate one's documents before appearing in exams. That rule is now history. Trusting the citizens was the mandate and self-attestation is now the new rule. Or consider the move to scrap interviews for non-gazetted Group D, C and B government jobs. In one stroke the entire industry of 'recommendations' has been shut down and pure merit has become the norm.

What are other such outdated and ill-conceived rules, regulations or practices that hinder the normal day to day lived experience of the people? In day-to-day governance issues what are the processes or system that can be simplified or simply done away with? Which are processes that serve the exact opposite purpose they are intended to serve? Rules, regulations and laws that serve no useful social purpose but merely create unnecessary red tape and bureaucracy and therefore need to go?

MyGov invites citizens, members of civil society, journalists, students, teachers, police officers, government employees, Parliamentarians, academics experts, bureaucrats, social media influencers, Think Tanks and all other interested people to give their considered view on the subject.

The latest census data suggests that in most of Metros and many Tire I cities, the number of locked houses is exceeding homeless families? Around 25-30% houses/ flats are locked/ under constructed or plots lying in inhabitable conditions? Surprisingly, many of them are subsidized by Governments in one or the other form. Isn’t it a sheer wastage of land, human labour, construction material and national finances? Shouldn’t there be fiscal laws making investments in such properties nonviable?

Our rulers and Seths used to construct Dharamshala for travelers and floating population where meager income people were getting shelter and food. The economic opportunities, medical/ business travel, educational pursuits and tourism in India has resulted in its tremendous growth. The needy, attendants of sick, students etc. of smaller places, apart from shelter homes, need low cost short term housing (say a week to one year)? We may allow Corporate to invest CSR funds in it?

Dear Govt. of India,
Thanks for introducing GST for Simple Taxation across India. It would be better if all invoices/challans/etc all documents to be only allowed to be created from gst.gov.in portal, this way we can eazily collect Taxes, and there will be no need to worry about ITR Filing for few types of Returns like Rents/Insurance/Mutual Fund Investments etc. As all the bills will be already with gst.gov.in, and all these investments have PAN number associated. So no corruption at all

Respected sir I think that government should introduce a law in petrol pump that they will give fuel after checking their driving licence. This will decrease the youngster which are below 18 from riding and thus somewhat will decrease the graph of accident. This can also reduce the burden of traffic police.

R/s,My suggestions is for education, sir if I ask u A for then most of our books will answer Apple. What if we introduce a small change in our edu system that will teach our children A for Apple,Ant,Aunt....upto 10 meaning and so on.This will trigger small brains and probably we may get some scientist instead of Robots. Its a seneario where we teach children to think for 10 words/meaning/pictures.
Its a matter of small change and hopefully it will not be politically opposed.
Thank you

Revamp the entire education system. There is too much stress on theory and exams.Introduce projects from 5th6th grade.Children focusing on projects will do better and they shouldn't be forced to focus only on the stupid useless exams.Encourage the arts field. Promote career in arts more.Artists should be given a broader scope for showcasing their talents.Theatres, exhibitions should be promoted more; by prominent people."*Make it a must for politicians to have legit Political science degrees.*"

Indian Education like England should provide a subject on study of different types of religion and their history to make aware among children of india all religions are meant for peacefulness. Religion studies will encourage better understanding of different culture and beliefs existing in the world,it will help to eradicate seperatists attitude among younger generations of india. In England a seperate subject is added in school curriculum for religions in the world and this subject is optional
