Can cleaning of the Ganga only be done through Plan or there is a larger need to integrate other stakeholders more effectively?
what ever government do plans for cleaning Ganga, even the whole India, people should support accordingly. i have seen people in temple were behaving irresopnsible. they using plastics in river, like soap, shampoo, their used garments.
i dreamed lot when our country people will get responsible on public property.
first we want to create awareness among people to maintain our country clean.
Possibility of Multipurpose project like TVC and DVC may be explored.
start with simple but easy to implement steps
1) Make it plastic free zone (shopkeepers should use paper bags instead)
2) install dustbins every 200ms near ghat area
3) Fine for littering with display boards throughout the city starting at railways station announcing the same.
4) Local shopkeepers and tour operators should sensitize pilgrims on the same5
5)Designated areas in ghat only to allow flower, cloth offering (makes job for cleaning easier)
6) Local gov to improve upon landscaping

People should understand first.people should not clothes in holy river and not to use soap or hair products while bathing
Cleaning of Ganga can be successful only when stake holders of Ganga stop exploiting the river.People beleive that the river is holy for the,but still pollute knowingly or unknowingly.Plans will be only in papers until the stake holders are involved directly in those plans in a larger manner
Plans save us energy while execution but without involving all stakeholders any number of plans made will not result in a clean Ganga as it will not garner the support required and dedication warranted from whole society rather than just the government. So it becomes of utmost importance that all parties involved and affected are considered at the preliminary stages and their views integrated for a successful mission that will give us a clean Ganga . Har Har gange ....
yes there is a larger need to integrate other stakeholders more effectively like the pandits can be involved at different religious ghats like haridwar to educate people not to immerse the remains of pooja, or the remains of human body (phool) in ganga, the industries discharging its waist in ganga can be stopped its operation with the help of local ngo's
People must understand the necessity of maa ganga in their lives and everyone should take responsibility this can through advertising this issue on TV and newspapers or through songs....
