Jhumpa Lahiri...My bet for next gen Author's is Jhuma Lahiri...His one of the Novels --In other Words--is a good read and author has kept the content simple and highly touching...Must read for all youth..In this novel she has emphasised how one can get success in writing in foreign language also.
On lighter note i want every one to read -Japanese Novel-IKIGAI...Indian Youth should go through this and learn how simple content can be hot selling also if the content is worth reading..
Mulk Raj Anand, prominent Indian author of novels, short stories, and critical essays in English, who is known for his realistic and sympathetic portrayal of the poor in India. He is considered a founder of the English-language Indian novel.
Khushwant singh sir should be a must read author as he is a jack of all literary forms dabbled through historical anthologies to politically sensitive novel as well as social commentary. His stories are not flamboyant but modest, restrained, well-crafted.
Reading RK Narayan helps you to figure out the India at the time of our forefathers and elders. With the emergence of technology and gadgets, today's novelists tend to get influenced a lot by these aspects and try to incorporate a lot of these in their works ( and they do it badly!).
Sir, govt has taken historic decisions but it's not enough. finest brains always migrate to better pastures. why? what the country lacks has to be addressed. there is minimum budget for R&D. huge population and cleanliness are big issues. we expect population control measures urgently. we may well be staring at one more division of the country. the fear lurks in many minds. regional parties only compound the issues.reservation policy and freebies badly need a relook which all fear to look at.
