The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was established in 1963 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry to contribute to the skill building for the ...
to declare all the Indian Institutes of Foreign Trade to be institutions
of national importance with a view to empower these institutions in
attaining standards of global excellence in international trade
(management and international economics) and allied areas of
knowledge, and to provide for certain other matters connected therewith
or incidental thereto.
The government is proposing to declare the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) as 'institution of national importance' with an aim to empower it to attain standards of global excellence.
1. Don't eat money during changing the name of organization by maintaining transparency.
2. Focus on exports and not imports. The institute should know things like FTA with other countries, size and demand of market should be considered. India is large on all fronts. If you deal with small countries with FTA you will export less but import more increasing the deficit and debt.
3. Revert to autonomy of RBI and banks by removing civil servants from board. There are rare organizations in India which are working well from past after inclusion of AIS as head and management posts.
These institutions have a major role to play and should be promoted more as very few have insight to enter here and develop their dreams and contribute to the nation .
Especially campaign in schools must need. Develop more career opportunities and internships / volunteers
