Dear Sir,
People are concerned over the increase in property/ land tax betterment levy in 1 km radius of new metro rail lines. There could be an alternative pls include additional
metro compartments to accommodate parcels and courier with automatic loading and uploading arrangements or dedicated compartments lease out to food and parcel delivery companies like swiggy , delivery. This will add revenue to metro lines and make it profitable and also take out unwanted vehicular traffic due to food delivery vehicles. The bikers will not loose their jobs, as they will still be needed for last mile delivery from metro station to the consumer. Atleast in future metro projects, design need to be changed to accommodate / facilitate parcel/ courier and food delivery through metro. If this was not experienced any where else, why we bother. India could be leaders in this. I had already given this suggestion when metro was stopped due to the pandemic, but no one took note of or implemented
