Aruna Asaf Ali was a freedom fighter who rose to prominence during the Quit India Movement. 'बाणासुर के शहीद' के नाम से प्रख्यात मेजर शैतानसिंह का जन्म १ सितम्बर,१९२४ को जोधपुर जिले की फलौदी तहसील के बाणासुर गाँव में हुआ। शैतान सिंह भारतीय सेना में भर्ती हो गए | १७ नवम्बर,१९६२ को चीन ने लद्दाख क्षेत्र की चुशूल चौकी पर आक्रमण किया, उस समय इस चौकी की रक्षा की जिम्मेदारी मेजर शैतानसिंह की 'चारली कम्पनी' पर थी| अपने १२० साथियों के साथ उन्होने चीनी सेना को दो बार पीछे हटने पर मजबूर कर दिया। जब उनके पास केवल दो सैनिक शेष रह गए और १८ नवम्बर १९६२ को मातृभूमि के लिए शहीद हुए
