Linking Higher Education to Society
Those with degrees and hoping to go in for research need to have some connect with India other than what they have learnt at the feet of their gurus in class and gurus in hostels.
How can a person do meaningful research on India without knowing what India is? Merely saying that one is from a poor, rural or whatever family is seldom enough experience to be able to conduct meaningful research.
No wonder Indian researches, esp. in social sciences are so shoddy.
