The objective of the Group is to brainstorm and invite considered views of all stakeholders in Chemicals & Petrochemical sector that include polymers, plastics, synthetic rubber basic Chemicals, pesticide, dyes etc. The sector is touching the lives of each and every member of the society. This sector has tremendous potential of growth vis a vis the contribution of this sector in the world economy, especially in the manufacturing sector in developed countries. The sector also offers employment opportunities for a large population.

As the sector is already liberalized, which has also resulted in a rapid increase in imports, there is a need to review this situation and to promote domestic manufacturing by attracting large investments and providing facilitative policy regime. At the same time, sustainability and environment friendliness of the industries in this sector also has to be ensured as an initiative as part of ‘MAKE IN INDIA’ campaign of the new government.

Comments and views are invited from the stakeholder at large.

Import Substitute Items to be Promoted. Imported Raw material should not be used for re-sale (Trading).
Cross check is required on the Export items again imported under different label. Vis a vis imported items should not be exported without value addition or in the name of 'rejection'

Knowing the fact that the biggest lobby in US. in terms spending is Pharmaceutical Industry driven by multinational presence. Multinational pharma companies first priority is to obtain ‪patent for their medicine in Indian soil (worlds biggest ‪generic pharmacy) and block the cheapest supply of medicines to third word and developing nations! In relation to Obama's India visit India should not mould patent laws toUS requirements which wil block access to medicines to citizensof developing world!

Same way we will be able to control the INR-dollars rate, it will give stability to our economy and we can achieve +8% growth rate. Last and most important we will save millions of youth’s lives and will cut the medical expenditure. It’ll make India healthy & happy.(02/02)

Dear Mr. Modi , alcohol consumption in idea is increasing at tremendous rate, this is one of the main reason of crime all over the India, include public crime and inside doors crime, why can’t we make a policy to stop the production of alcohol in India. I have one idea to do that, Convert all liquor refineries in biofuel refinery, By this way we will not be cutting any jobs , it’ll save the industry plus will get an extra source of energy thus dependency on petrochemicals will decrease. Health Education is a large unmet area. Basic Health screening must be made mandatory for all. We do not need doctors but properly trained people and use modern communication tools. Encourage healthy foods by reducing taxes on them and taxing junk food

Chemical industry is capital intensive. Govt can make such policy to give financial back-up through technical institutions to their students to start a industry. This will bring industry and institution is close relationship and motivate students and parent for manufacturing than searching for jobs in MNC.

Chemicals are linked with pollution. Now days transportation and movement is not a difficult task. To promote chemical industry , Govt should plan Chemicals Mfg Hubs, away from population in each state. Mfg of chemical industry should be promoted as per local raw material available .Pollution can be controlled and monitor with better way. incentive(in tax relaxation)can be give to shift existing industry to such places. Such hub should not be near such water body which put effect on population.

Govt should promote the co-operative economy in agricultural sector.I think that would be a good tribute to NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE whose socialist thinking led us to the formation of Ajad Hind Sarkar.
