Three language formula has not worked and it was doomed to be so.merely for the reason that Hindi was to be promoted as a national language this policy was adopted as a compromise and sop.Why anybody will learn a language, and add to burden, if he is not going to use.Instead, if there is a rule that all persons ,who seek employment and propose to stay for than five years in a state should learn local language. To facilitate learning, Devanagari script should be used with free use of English words
We are blessed with a large number of well developed Indian languages.unfortunately because of linguistic chauvinism, fueled by political class for their own political ends, no real attempt is made to encourage extra state persons to learn the domicile language eagerly and also absorb local culture and ethos. We shd admire and emulate our forefathers in Gujarath who laid out to Parsis to learn and adopt.Having common Devanagari script and liberal use of English words incl one,two three and
sanskrit is our classical language& sanskrit is world's oldest language. indian goverment should make it first language& as second languge can be hindi ,gujarati ,marathi, tamil etc..
I'm last year Engineering student. During placements at on campus I've faced a single problem called English language. I don't tell that English language is not important for all of us but I'm telling that give same importance to our National language "HINDI".I'm giving an example in last placement which was held at my college campus, the group discussion's topic was "Clean India". I started to give my opinion in HINDI, they stopped me and argued that HINDI is not allowed !!!
subject like science, maths, social studies, environment book should be in English. But instructions can be both in local language and English together. As higher education is in English, students should be comfortable with reading English.English must be giver preference and mil can be any subject such as Hindi, sanskrit ,Assamese, bengoli, boro, hmar,Nepali, etc etc
