Examination reforms that focus on problem-solving, critical thinking and reasoning skills are critical to improving quality at the secondary level. Such reforms will change the ...
Sir,
In my opinion
i) There should be one Examination System in whole country. So, that ranking and chances for students shall be equal for all students.
ii) In our school time we had three language system. It shall be reorganized properly and the system shall be in the following order :
1. First language : Regional Language
2. Second Language : Hindi
3. Third Language : Any other Indian or Foreign language
iii) Text books shall also be same for all the schools
Suggestion to improve our education system

I have got feedback on Gujarat State education
a) While checking board papers of 12th std, teachers are instructed to pass maximum students
b) There has been resistance for new appointment in commerce section
c) Teachers focus on other activity than teaching, leading to deterioration in quality of education
Wish for improvements
The older pattern of exam..Half yearly and Annual was good. The only thing that should be added is give more emphasis on practicals. Increase its MM from 30 to 50 and reduce theory marks to 50.
The following exam systems is suggested for schools and colleges. Open book internal exams students should score minimum 50% to qualify to sit for Board open book exams. Marks scored in the board open book exams evaluated by 2 external examiners only should be considered for admission for further higher studies/higher class
CBSE ,ICSE and State Board course should be same. Now course of these different boards are different and books are also. But at the time of entrance exam ( i.e. Medical,Engineering, UPSC etc) most of the Questions come from CBSE Board. It is not helpful for state board students.
CBSE pattern can be made as standard for all boards. Only the language need to be changed from English to state language in books. This will also make standard paper evaluation/ examination system.
the scoring in the examination conducted must be given without any pass or fail and the students may be allowed to study anything he wants further
Continued.... internal exams of schools carrying weightage in the Board exam of class 10th has similar affects as in the case of practical exams,i.e., over-grading. Such things does not "free" students of educational "burden" but make students assured of free marks and hence "complacent".
Marking system needs to be brought back as compared with grading system in board examination. Practicals are important. But in India, many schools assure good practical marks just bcoz they want their school performance to enhance and teachers help cheat behind external's back (happened in my school and others which I heard from friends). So, and only for this reason, weightage of practical should be reduced. New NCERT courses for secondary classes has too low good standard theories.
