The hobby of collecting stamps is definitely a very fulfilling one, and to be honest, there aren’t many rules in it as well. However, there are some things that you need to take care of in order to boost your hobby of collecting stamps in the first place. For most collectors of stamps, it is one of the best ways to explore the entire world, countries, their history, cultures, and so much more.
Also, one of the best things is that, unlike other hobbies, you wouldn’t have to buy expensive equipment. Just get some simple accessories for stamp collecting, and you are all set.
Stamps Collection is a beautiful hobby. But it needs patience and much effort to collect different types of stamps from different countries. I started collecting stamps from 1985. I lost some of my precious collection during the heavy flood which devastated my city. Again I have started collecting stamps from various countries as well as from our country. Each stamp has an important information about it and youngsters can learn so many unknown things through stamps.
These days youngsters are not interested or giving importance to this hobby and they get addicted to mobile phone and play games. Schools and Colleges should include Stamps Collection projects in the curriculum and send take the students to Post Office and explain the role of a postage stamps in our life. Government should try to minimise the usage of Frankling method give an option to affix postage stamps also. Moreover due to social media networks and private courier services stamps usage has drastically reduced.
stamp collection is a hobby which gives you in-depth knowledge about your surroundings, historical event, national heroes, freedom fighters, sports personalities, sports events, political leaders, soldiers, brave armed forces heroes, historical buildings, monuments books, writers and whatnot.
while collecting stamps we knowingly or unknowingly come to know about the subject in depth and its importance. many a time we may not be in touch with the subject on which stamps are issued. but with the first-day cover, we get all the important facts about the subject selected for issuing stamps. we also have information about the country that issued the stamp, its currency, its culture, its capital and various facts which we may not come across in routine.
Hence in brief stamp collection is a hobby which not only sharpens our knowledge but also teaches us a lot of things about the subject matter.
I will recommend for the overall development of the child we must promote this hobby.

i want to share my thoughts with the help of a simple story.
When i was 13 years old, i noticed one colourful stamp, on which Madam Indira Gandhi's picture was there.
i was very curious, then i asked it to my paa ,paa.... what is this?...then he told me that beta it is a postal stamp, and it used to get published on, special ocassions, eminent personalities, on different monuments.
From then, i started collecting postal stamps, now i am having total 23 stamps.
if you will notice, then you will get to know, how informative that small piece of paper is!
At that time, i learnt a lot about Shrimati Indira Gandhi....like how she became the first female prime minister of india??her tenure, including the emergency, and her assassination in 1984.
After that i researched about patola of gujarat, red fort, and about rhinoceros, all through with the help of image on postal stamps.
"If you can notice, those little pieces of paper can tell you beautiful stories"
