India’s Handloom sector is a symbol of our glorious cultural heritage and is an important source of livelihood in the country.

The first National Handloom Day was held on 7th August 2015 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. On this day, the handloom weaving community is honoured and their contribution to the socio-economic development of the country is highlighted, and the resolve to protect our handloom heritage and to empower the handloom weavers and workers with greater opportunities is reaffirmed.

Let us, together, ensure the sustainable development of the handloom sector by supporting our handloom weavers and workers for their exquisite craftsmanship.

As we approach National Handloom Day, we invite you to come forward & support the Handloom weavers/artists by sharing your photos or videos wearing or using Handloom products. The best pictures and videos will get featured at MyGov – the world’s biggest citizen engagement platform.

Go ahead, show your support to our glorious heritage!

Handloom sarees are soft in texture and more resilient whereas a power-loom saree will be stiff and hard in feel due to compact weaving and even spreading of the weft which happens in powerloom. ... Handloom sarees often have extra threads left at the end of the pallu, which can be used for making tassels.

Handloom Industry reflects the culture of India & it is the second-largest employment sector after agriculture in rural India. When 4.3 million people involved either directly or indirectly with this industry and 15% of cloth production in the country comes from it, it is really important to maintain the importance of this industry. with this aim, Tanti Handloom strives to play its role to promote handloom across the world https://www.uppoliceresults.co.in/haryana-labour-department/

On the occassion of National Handloom Day I just want to thank those invisible hands that weave my style.....💞
I support my weavers because they are preserving our age old techniques and providing a susutainable choice.
For me....the tagline goes like this😊
"Indian Handloom...Drape the Grace"
Thank you
