Smart City Dehradun
Start Date :
Oct 14, 2015
Last Date :
Dec 01, 2015
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Dehradun, the interim capital of Uttarakhand, Words fails to describe Uttarakhand. Some call it 'heaven on earth' while others call it the abode of Gods'. However one thing is for ...
Water harvesting systems should be made mandatory as a part of all commercial and residential complexes
1.Make the electrical lines underground. This will allow trees to be planted on road side as the main constraint is over head electrical lines.
2.Mismanagement of traffic and parking at crossings are main cause of trouble. We can think of installing metal railings on footpaths near the crossings (may be 30-40 feet on both sides).
3. Please do not repeat the mistake of making over bridge for Pedestrians crossing or make subways. No one uses them, not even in metro cities like Delhi.
There are a host of issues that can be addressed under the smart city campaign:
1. On-line status update of public projects(say road, flyover or dam construction) with a system to rate the concerned department. The department's appraisal should have some weightage from public rating. This would help in speeding up the projects
2.Training of government employees to accept and use technology
dehradun is most needed public rapid transport... road shape is very bad every time choked...so some concept like metro mono rail etc needed
SURYA KANT DHASMANA-3
Old city should not be disturbed too much
SURYA KANT DHASMANA-2
Railway station and ISBT need to be relooked into for new locations
SURYA KANT DHASMANA-1
Dehradun was a small town for retired people with some central govt establishments with no drainage problem; after becoming capital city is under too much pressure; after MDDA existence colonies that have come up have no drainage facilities; the old city has its limitation such as widening of roads etc has already been used; the new areas have to be identified which can be developed such as tea estate, IDPL etc.
Rajesh Agarwal
Today car is a norm for every house which was earlier not the case in this city, roads need to be developed for colony development as well

Multi level Parking hubs should also be developed for enabling citizens to not require to travel long distances for parking, this can be done under AMRUT
Anil gupta-2
Drainage problem should be solved for the whole city
