Start Date :
Sep 15, 2015
Last Date :
Nov 16, 2015
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get ...
An integrated bus station next to the Railway junction on the 7th platform[Kallukuzhi side] acquiring necesaary land from Raiways,Postal Dept,Defene and Armed reserve police will serve as a exit for all sides for Tiruchirapalli freeing city from the traffic jams as outstation commuters and passengers need not enter the city-The out lets exixting are Towards-Dindigul,Madurai,Pudukottai,Tanjavur,and Chennai
A run through flyover starting from the new coleroon[kollidam] bridge to Airport about 16kms via Srirengam-Fort station-Railway Junction[over the rail lines] -KKnagar will by pass the city and those who want to skip the city traffic can zip past in 10minutes
Like the solar panels atop Narmada River,Tiruchirapalli city can have Solar panels atop Uyyakondan canal which runs about 22kms which will be a great savings for the finance starved Tiruchirapalli city corporation and which will be a showcase for other cities in Tamilnadu to have clean and green energy and to reduce carbon foot print. If there is a will[with the administrators]there is a way. V.S.Velayudan-Tiruchirapalli
wooden smugglers are increasing in city and there by no tress and plant more tress and make a greeen, healthy environment as now in race course locality everwhere across tiruchirappalli...
Further construction of good parks and malls within the City Limits and introduction of Suburban Electric Rail Services on all the Five branching Railway lines from Trichy Junction upto a distance of 30 KM or 50 KM radius will improve the living conditions of the citizens.
As a result the citizens are compelled let their sewage into the open drains which are still in use.
Further all the bathing Ghats situated on the southern banks of the river Cauvery have been usurped leaving only a few for use. While the authorities have taken care of the bathing Ghats at the Ammamandapam Road, Srirangam very well, the usuprtion of southern Ghats particularly in West Chinthamani have not been properly looked into by them.
The underground drainage system is very poor in many parts of the city. It is not 100%. Even in places where they are laid, they are not laid properly and hence they are not put to use even if the citizens are willing to migrate to the system. Particularly in areas like West Chinthamani on the banks of river Cauvery it is yet to be implemented due to improper laying of underground pipes. The lay just buried underground, a wastage of huge govt.money.
In addition, there are many places in the City which are not directly covered by the City Bus routes and if they are implemented properly more people will take city buses instead of their personal vehicles. Mini buses also can be run near and around the Rockfort temple to help the citizens. Now for everything all the citizens have to compulsorily reach the Chathram Bus stand from their homes either by their own vehicles or rented ones or by walk.
Further the City Buses are not user friendly. The names written on the display boards of buses will not correspond with those painted on the sides. In short there is no correlation between the Bus route numbers and their destinations.
In addition to the above, strict action on speeding vehicles and implementing the maximum limits of speed within the city limits for all type of vehicles and instructing the city bus drivers to stop the buses close to the bus stops instead of the middle of the road also will greatly improve the traffic conditions.
