topic: tax reforms
fact: objective: to bring everyone under tax umbrella
proposal:
1. removing tds (direct income tax)
2. introducing nominal per-transaction tax (receiver's
end).
since we have a heavy use of online/upi transactions,
we know exactly how much people receive. if govt.
directs bank to collect tax (say weekly/monthly) from the receivers account (tax can be a very low % based on the amount transferred). this way, we bring almost everyone, and the amount collected will also be
significantly high.
what is solves:
1. takes away burden from middle class salaried
employees
2. gives a significamt collection to govt for its
operations
3. transparency in taxation process
