The Veer Gatha 4.0 was conducted from 05 September 2024 to 31 October 2024, involving a diverse range of thought-provoking topics. The project included school-level activities, nationwide interaction programs with Gallantry Awardees (both online and offline), and submission of the best entries via the MyGov portal.
Students could write about their role models, focusing on Gallantry Award winners, freedom fighters like Rani Laxmibai, the 1857 First War of Independence, and the significant role of Tribal Uprisings in India’s Freedom Struggle. These topics enriched the entries’ quality and deepened the participants’ understanding of India’s historical and cultural heritage.
The competition garnered an incredible nationwide response. Approximately 1.76 crore students from around 2.31 lakh schools participated, and 100 meritorious students were selected as winners at the national level. The winners are categorized into four groups: Preparatory Stage (Grades 3-5), Middle Stage (Grades 6-8), Secondary Stage (I) (Grades 9-10), and Secondary Stage (II) (Grades 11-12), with 25 winners from each category.
