The Ganga is India’s life. It is an integral part of our history and cultural ethos. Sadly, the condition of the Ganga has become pitiable over the years. You are invited to share your roadmap with ideas and suggestions on how to improve the condition of the Ganga so that the Ganga is once again restored to its glory.
In Continuation:
9. The policy should be more stringent for Industries and there should be hand holding for Pollution Control Boards at Central and State Levels.
10. The Condition of river Ganga is quite poor in UP region due to unauthorized industries and due to lack of awareness in people.
I am not proposing to shunt off Industries, but these industries should either have own treatment facilities or a CETP unlike Kanpur. The CETP should be planned by projection higher load unlike GAP-I
In Cont with my last msg:
6. The Action plans for Ganga needs to work on real problem rather than what they did in past. (for an instance, just to save on few bucks, they proposed old technologies and also for Kanpur issue, they have envisaged industrial growth on very lower side)
7. Nalla tapping with proposal of few STPs at every 10-50 km stretch (it can save on direct discharge of sewage/ effluent in Ganga)
8. The Urban Agglomeration should not be ignored while planning any such schemes
Actionable Policy (which may prove permanent solution):
1. Awareness of People by linking Ganga as Deity
2. Stop open bathing, dead animal dumping, solid waste dumping
3. The Pollution Control Board should adhere with their policy and work plan for each industries without failing. (They should go with banning industries which are not abiding with stipulated norms)
4. The norms/ parameters for disposal of Effluent or Sewage needs to be more stringent
5. Upgrading Existing Infrastructures...
1. Building more sewage treatment plants
2. Stopping cremation & disposal of dead bodies in Ganga
3. Heavy fine on industries which dispose their harmful waste without proper treatment
4. Ban of polythene
5. Protecting water creatures for ecological balance
6. Leaving tortoise in Ganga which can eat dead bodies
7. Growing water hyacinth which can prevent pollution
8. Cleaning other polluted rivers meeting Ganga
9. Stopping sand mining
10. Fne on people for spreading garbage & installing CCTV
We must take action:
1.Net can Remove Metal and plastic waste
2.Very active Clean city program for riverbed cities
3.Taking help of religious, social self help group
4.Closure threat to industries which are polluting rivers intentionally
5.Chemical Removing/treatment facilities
6.research on fantumplantum and coral rifts in river water
