In order to bring together the creative diversity of this country, and generate a set of exquisite products, by using Indian handloom Products, a creative crowd-sourcing competition is being launched through the MyGov platform.
In this competition, the Indian citizens/designers/entrepreneurs of this country are requested to submit their entries, based on which these interesting products can be manufactured and available for sale.
To generate awareness about the importance of the handloom industry and its contribution to the socio-economic development of the country, 7th August is celebrated every year as “National Handloom Day”.

August 7 was chosen as the National Handloom Day to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement which was launched on this day in 1905 in the Calcutta Town hall. The first National Handloom Day was inaugurated on 7th August 2015 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the Centenary Hall of Madras University in Chennai.

Ministry of Textiles in collaborations with MyGov is organizing a contest Design a Handloom Souvenir. For the same Indian citizens are requested to share their ideas of souvenirs designed/created by them using Indian Handlooms in the form of photograph(s) to promote and support the Handloom Sector

These souvenir products can be in the form of file covers, book covers, slip pads, pen stands, pens, card holders, mobile holders, notebooks, mobile chargers, tea and coffee mugs, and so on.

handloom design saree
My design is based on Bengal's glorious art of wooden dolls. Just as Bengal's handloom is being reborn, I wish to also revive the lost art of wooden dolls, which is why I have chosen this design.

A purse made by me. My name is Stuti. This is made by using Cotton macreme thread. The threads are woven by hands without using any stitching medium like needle etc. and given the structure of a Purse. I Have shared 3 pictures in one to show you each angle of the purse. It is a side-purse.
