About GOBARdhan:
GOBARdhan was launched to ensure cleanliness in villages by converting bio-waste including cattle waste, kitchen leftovers, crop residue and market waste to improve the lives of villagers. This will provide economic and resource benefits to farmers and households.
Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation is working in coordination with other Departments/ Ministries, State Governments, public/private sector institutions and village communities to spread awareness and generate ‘Jan Andolan’ so that community collective action on GOBARdhan is achieved.
GOBARdhan will benefit rural people in general and women in particular from the use of clean fuel, improved cleanliness in villages and through improvement in health. This initiative will support biodegradable waste recovery and conversion of waste into resources, reduction of GHG emission, give boost to entrepreneurship and promote organic farming.
DWS in collaboration with MyGov India, is inviting citizens to participate in Design a LOGO and a TAGLINE for GOBARdhan activity.
Objectives:
•Support villages to safely and productively manage their cattle waste, agricultural waste.
•Support to communities to convert their cattle and organic waste to wealth using decentralized systems
•Promote environmental sanitation and curb vector borne diseases through effective disposal of waste in
rural areas.
•Convert organic waste, especially, cattle waste to bio gas and fertilizer for use in rural areas.
Principles:
•Aggregate cattle waste and convert it to biogas for domestic and industrial purposes.
•Bio-slurry is a by-product and is used as bio-fertilizer.
•Actively involve the community /SHG / milk coops in Operation & Management.
•Focus on making the process economically viable for all in the value chain.
•Entrepreneurship for the large scale production of compressed biogas and bio-fertilizers.

Guidelines for Entries :
• Logo should be submitted in JPEG, PNG or PDF format only.
• All fonts should be converted to Outlines/Curves.
• If file contains spot colours or RGB colours, they will be converted to CMYK
• File should be high resolution – at least 300 pixels per inch at 100% size
• File should look clean (not pixilated or bit-mapped) when viewed on screen at 100%
• Entries should not be submitted in compressed or self-extracting formats.
• Each entry should be accompanied by a brief written explanation of the Logo and Tagline and how best it
encapsulates its essence.
