The Telecom Disputes Settlement & Appellate Tribunal(TDSAT) was created in the year 2000 by the Central Government under the TRAI Act 1997(as amended) to adjudicate disputes and dispose of appeals with a view to protect the interests of service providers and consumers of Telecom Sector and to ensure prompt and orderly growth of the Telecom Sector. In January, 2004, the Government included Broadcasting and Cable Service also within the purview of TRAI Act. After coming into force of the relevant provisions of the Finance Act 2017, the jurisdiction of TDSAT stands extended to matters that lay before the Cyber Appellate Tribunal (CyAT) and also the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority Appellate Tribunal(AERAAT).
The Tribunal exercises jurisdiction over Telecom, Broadcasting, Information Technology and Airport Tariff matters under TRAI Act 1997 (as amended), The Information Technology Act 2008 and Airport Economic Regulatory Authority of India Act 2008. The Tribunal exercises original as well as appellate jurisdiction in regard to Telecom, Broadcasting and Airport Tariff matter. In regard to Cyber the Tribunal exercises only the appellate jurisdiction.
It has been desired that TDSAT should have its own unique “LOGO” which reflects its identity and area of jurisdiction, which can be easily understood by the industry and public at large. The “LOGO” shall endeavor to communicate the ethos and excellence of the body in discharging its functions. Further details in respect of the organization may be seen at the website www.tdsat.gov.in.
The designer of the finally selected “LOGO” will get a prize of Rs.50,000/-(Rupees fifty thousand only) and would be required to give complete ownership rights of the design to TDSAT. The prize money will be payable after deduction of (TDS).
The last date for accepting entries is 30th June, 2019 at 11 P.M.
