India is committed to reduce road accidents and the fatalities by at least 50% in next five years. In order to ensure safe and smooth flow of traffic, MoRTH proposes to select a road safety mascot which would be used for the campaigns to be launched by the Ministry. Mascots are mainly used to get people's attention. It gives an identity to a campaign. Over a period of time, the mascot gains so much attention that people can easily relate to a theme or campaign by mere mention of the mascot. The mascot would also be used for the animation videos of road safety. It is proposed that the mascot can be the face of road safety campaign and can be used by Government as well as non-Governmental organizations in promoting road safety.
It is important that the creative ideas from the citizens are used for choosing the mascot. Ministry of RTH invites entries from the public for suggesting a mascot for promoting road safety activities and campaigns.
Last date for submission of the entries is 30th November 2016.
Selected top three entries will be awarded cash prizes of Rs. 50,000/- , Rs. 25,000/- and Rs. 10,000/- respectively.
