The Ministry of AYUSH in collaboration with MyGov invites participants to celebrate the International Day of Yoga 2025 by exploring the theme "Yoga for One Earth One Health" through an essay writing competition. This theme emphasizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, echoing the ancient yogic wisdom of unity, peace, love, and compassion.
Objectives:
1. Promote awareness of yoga's historical significance and its modern-day contributions to global health and wellness.
2. Highlight yoga's potential in addressing contemporary health challenges and environmental concerns.
3. Encourage research and creativity among students and scholars on integrating traditional yogic knowledge with modern scientific advancements.
4. Foster critical thinking on how yoga can provide sustainable, innovative solutions to global health issues.
5. Engage youth and academicians in exploring the future trajectory of yoga in the global health ecosystem.
Guidelines for Essay Writing
1. Format: Essays should be submitted in PDF, double line spacing, each page numbered. No pictures or illustrations. Font size 12, Times New Roman (or equivalent).
2. Word Count: Essays should have word count written in the end.
3. Theme: One can choose the theme of the essay from the themes suggested below.
4. Word Limit: 800-1000 words.
5. Language: Essays can be in Hindi or English Language.
6. All essays must carry a one-line certification: "I (insert name) certify that this essay is solely written by me and no one else has any claim to the copyright."
Judging Criteria
1. Originality and Creativity: Treatment of the theme showing imagination, human interest, and a fresh point of view.
2. Content and Structure: Clearly express your ideas in an organized manner.
3. Length: Must conform strictly to the word limit provided.
4. Grammar and Spelling: There must be logical flow using proper grammar and spelling.
5. Adherence to the Topic: Essays must stay focused on the topic.
6. Wow Factor: Exceptional essays that display an incredible use of vocabulary, clever ideas, and unique style.
7. Language: No use of foul language, derogatory words, or insinuations.
Gratifications
1. Top 16 essays will receive cash/ kind award of Rs.2000 and a certificate issued by Ministry of Ayush.
2. Special Recognition: Top 10 participants with the highest scores will be featured on the social media platforms of the Ministry of Ayush.
