Mumbai invites citizens to participate in essay competition for developing the vision statements for Mumbai Smart City. This essay will focus on the issues faced by the residents of the city, and the likely smart solutions which can address these issues. The entries will help MCGM to develop a vision statement for the city and will also define city sub goals based on it. The participants should focus on the practical, bankable & implementable ideas/solutions related to Smart City which should match the context of the city.

The topic of the essay is “Mere sapno ka ShaherKaisa Ho” (Hindi), City of My Dreams (English), Majhaya Sapanchaya Sheher (Marathi)

The essay should have at least following:-

a) Describe a ‘smart’ idea that you have seen in some other city (anywhere in the world) that you would like to see replicated in your own city. ‘Smart idea’ means doing more with less.
b) Describe 3 ways that the Mumbai cities can reduce the gap between rich and poor.
c) List out 5 essential facilities provided by your local municipal corporation that should be available to all citizen.
How to Submit

All the entries must be submitted online through https://mygov.in. No other medium of submission should be accepted.

Entries may be submitted online on the www.mygov.in portal latest by 20th October, 2015.

Evaluation

The submission will be evaluated on the following criteria:

1. Do-ability (50%)
2. Innovation (50%)

The top 3 essays will be awarded -

1. 1st Prize – Rs. 5,000 (Five Thousand Rupees only)
2. 2nd Prize – Rs. 3,000 (Three Thousand Rupees only)
3. 3rd Prize – Rs. 2,000 (Two Thousand Rupees only)
