Under the overarching umbrella of National Rural Livelihood Mission, the Gujarat Government launched Mission Mangalam scheme to organize women into Self Help Groups in order to engage them in livelihood generating activities. As a part of that, the state envisions to create a USP of SHG groups in the domain of canteen and catering services. And for that purpose, SHG groups are being allotted the spaces in government premises to own & operate the canteens which are being termed as “Mangalam Canteens”. The government intends to build a distinct brand of the “SHG-run Mangalam canteens” and to have its logo and a Tagline for that purpose. Mangalam Canteens promises to be innovative enterprises that will promote healthy diet, environmental sustainability, recurring livelihoods, and women-led growth, among other things.
Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company, under Dept. of Rural Development, Govt. of Gujarat, invites citizens from across India to design a logo and suggest tagline for SHG run “Mangalam Canteen” Brand. The exercise is aimed at encouraging citizen participation in governance, giving wings to the artistic imagination of the citizens, give their innovation a national recognition in order to promote participatory governance.
Technical parameters
1. The logo and the tagline must signify the essence of Mangalam Canteens and its 3 core elements:
(i) Women-led growth through self-help Groups
(ii) Canteen & Food Services
(iii) Environmental Sustainability
2. The logo must be submitted in JPG, JPEG or PNG format.
3. The logo must be designed on a digital platform that can be easily replicated on websites, social media posts, printed banners and so on.
4. The winning participant must submit an open and editable logo file.
5. The logo must be an original design work. Any proof of plagiarism, imitation, replication, etc shall lead to disqualification.
6. Participants should submit a brief (not more than 100 words) to explain the rationale and relevance of the designed logo and the provided tagline with the given theme.
7. The logo should be designed in a coloured format. The size of the logo may vary from 5 cm*5 cm to 30cm*30cm in either portrait or landscape mode.
8. The logo and tagline should be usable on the website, social media platforms, and printables such as stationary, signboards, magazines, commercials, holdings, standees, brochures, leaflets, pamphlets, souvenirs, and other publicity and marketing material for the promotion of canteens.
9. The logo image should be in high resolution with a minimum of 300 DPI.
10. The logo should look clean (not pixilated or bit-mapped) when viewed on-screen at 100%.
11. Entries should not be submitted in compressed or self-extracting formats.
12. The logo design should not be imprinted or watermarked.
Evaluation criteria
1. The submitted logo designs and taglines will be assessed by a screening committee consisting of 1 to 3 members.
2. The shortlisted designs will be further sent to the Selection Committee for the final evaluation, which will declare one final winner.
3. The Final winner will be declared based on the following criteria:
(a) Relevance and Alignment to the theme of the initiative
(b) Creativity and Innovation of thought
(c) Originality and Simplicity
(d) The decision of the Selection Committee would be final and binding on all the contestants. No clarifications would be issued to any participants or to any decision of the Selection Committee.
Gratification
The winner will be provided with a reward of INR. 50,000
