Established in 1875, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) is completing 150 years of service to the nation on 15th January 2025. IMD is among the earliest government departments created specifically for systematic observation, regular reporting and scientific forecasting of weather phenomenon in the Indian subcontinent. In a way, the evolution of meteorology as a stream of modern physical science owes a lot to the contributions made by scientists and technologists who were associated with IMD during its glorious one hundred and fifty years of journey.

To commemorate our remarkable 150-year journey of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, we proudly announce IMD’s Mascot Designing Contest in collaboration with MyGov. Event invites participants to unleash their creativity by conceptualizing a unique and engaging mascot representing the India Meteorological Department. Participants are encouraged to design a character that embodies IMD's values, mission, and commitment to building a resilient and informed society. The contest offers an exciting opportunity to blend creativity with purpose, as the winning mascot will become an iconic figure in IMD’s outreach and public engagement efforts.

1. First Prize: INR 5000/-
2. Second Prize: INR 3000/-
3. Third Prize: INR 2000/-

Technical Parameters:
1. The mascot must be eye-catching and depict the finer ideas of the theme.
2. The entries should be accompanied by a brief description of the mascot and how best it encapsulates the essence of the theme.
3. The entries will only be accepted in high-quality .jpeg/ .png format. Entries sent in any other format will be instantly disqualified.
