In collaboration with MyGov, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has announced a captivating initiative – "Moods and Magic” from Kartavya Path to Amrit Udyan Photography Contest. The theme focuses on celebrating the vibrant human experiences and emotional journeys unfolding from the lively ambience of Kartavya Path to the serene landscapes of Amrit Udyan. The focus is on capturing the dynamic interactions, candid expressions, and heartfelt moments that bring these iconic spaces to life during the festival.
Participants are encouraged to document diverse narratives, including joyful visitors enjoying the gardens, families bonding, curious children exploring nature, dedicated workers ensuring smooth operations, and local artisans showcasing their crafts. The theme emphasizes the harmony between people and these vibrant urban spaces, highlighting the cultural engagement and shared experiences that thrive during the festivities.
The aim is to provide a unique visual portrayal that goes beyond mere landscapes, focusing instead on the emotional and human connections that flourish across this historic and dynamic corridor. Through this theme, the contest seeks to celebrate the beauty, resilience, and spirit of people interacting with nature, culture, and heritage.
Evaluation Criteria
1. Special Jury Panel consisting of Influencing Photographers along with officials from the MoHUA.
2.The panel will assess and determine the winning photos. The results and winners will be announced on the website, social media platforms, and other appropriate channels.
3. The decision of the Photography Contest - “Moods and Magic” judging panel will be final and binding on all participants regarding all matters related to the contest.
4. MoHUA reserves the right to request original JPEG or RAW files with unaltered EXIF data for authentication purposes. An image may be disregarded if this information cannot be provided.
Gratification:
1st Price – Rs 50,000
2nd Price – Rs 30,000
3rd Price – Rs 20,000
The Spotlight Awards will recognize two runners-up in each of the following categories, with a prize of Rs 5,000 awarded to each winner. The categories and their respective runner-up winners will be selected based on the criteria described below.
1. Best Candid Moment – Awarded to the photograph that captures the most genuine, unscripted moment between people and the environment of Amrit Udyan or Kartavya Path.
2. Most Vibrant Mood – Recognizes the photograph that most vividly portrays a powerful, positive mood or emotion (joy, wonder, excitement, etc.) in a dynamic, colorful setting.
3. Nature & People Harmony – Celebrates a photograph that beautifully integrates both nature and human elements, showcasing their coexistence in harmony.
4. Cultural Engagement – Recognizes a photograph that highlights cultural activities or interactions, such as performances, art exhibitions, or traditional practices happening at the venue.
5. Behind-the-Scenes – Focuses on a more candid or less-publicized moment, such as workers, artisans, or the daily efforts behind the scenes that make the festival possible.
Winning photographs will be featured on the official DAY-NULM and MyGov platforms. A special exhibition will be put up on Kartavya Path of the winning Pictures post the contest.
