Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) implements the National Scheme of Apprenticeship Training through four Regional Boards of Apprenticeship Training located at Chennai, Mumbai, Kanpur and Board of Practical Training at Kolkata, for providing skill training to graduates & diploma holders in engineering and technology & 10+2 vocational pass outs.

The main objective of the scheme is to fulfill / match, any gap, in so far as the practical / hands on experience of fresh graduate engineers, diploma holders in engineering and 10+2 vocational pass outs are concerned, which they do not acquire during their regular studies under normal practice.

The period of Apprenticeship Training is one year, during which the apprentices are paid monthly stipend and the 50% of minimum stipend is reimbursed to the employers by the MHRD.

MHRD has decided to develop a robust Portal to provide seamless connectivity with the stakeholders for transparent administration through e-governance to cater to the needs of Stakeholders, Regional Boards & the Ministry.

The Ministry invites the ideas and suggestions for “Slogan” and a suitable “Logo” for the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme for incorporating in the National Web Portal.
