Chennai - A Global Smart City in Making

Start Date :
Sep 16, 2015
Last Date :
Nov 16, 2015
00:00 AM IST (GMT +5.30 Hrs)
Corporation of Chennai is preparing a proposal towards Smart City Challenge which would include city wide smart urban solutions as well as identification of areas within the city ...
Cleaniness is the first step of Smart city.Acheive it by strict enforcement of laws.
Broaden the Roads to reduce traffic.
Clear encroachment of public land and use it for public means.
Increase connectivity and free flow of vehicles
Make more efficient the Sub-Urban transport and MTC Transport.
Make use of solar power where were possible.(in streat lights & parks.etc)
Regulate all departments of "Corporation of Chennai".
Develop infrastructure and surroundings.
*All bus depots, bus stops and railway stations must be maintained neatly and safely.'
*Metro Train project must be completed as soon as possible.
*Some chennai roads are not able to withstand even a small amount of rain. This has to end and and all roads must be of good quality.
*Slums must be cleared and housing must be given for all.
*Water and drainage system is to be improved to stop leakage.
*improve sea water desalination plant.
*Clean Koovam River-Most important.
To make Global Smart City, all ration shops in chennai must be developed and digitalised like private departmental store and implement smart card facility soon.
To make Global Smart City, all post offices in india must be developed and digitalised in all aspects like public sector and private banks such as SBI, ICICI BANK, etc.
Iam staying at ambattur. As of my knowledge, for more than 2 to 3 years Roads are very worst condition in AMBATTUR INDUSTRIAL ESTATE BUS STAND. For making Global Smart City, it is important to maintain a road properly in AMBATTUR INDUSTRIAL ESTATE BUS STAND.
FLOATING BUILDINGS ON SEA
Tamil Nadu government &Chennai corporation is known for implementing innovative plans. Please start construct floating buildings on the sea for IT sector, colleges,Malls, floating government buildings like secretariat, corporation office, and other government offices.Make our city the pioneer internationally.Even though if you dont do it now it will be done by next generation because it is unavoidable.
Triplicane must be decongested first and areas in north Chennai should be developed properly for a smart city
All MTC buses and railway stations in Chennai must be hygienic and clean.Strict fine should be imposed on those who strew garbage or litter in public places. Should involve youth and college students in a mass cleanliness drive regularly in an organised way.
My Choice is Perambur/PeriyarNagar it should be preferred for smart city mission
Perambur should be preferred for smart city mission, Concentrate on North Chennai, it has not been developed when compared to other parts of the city. Developing an underdeveloped loyality only makes chennai to grow more instead of developing the already developed areas. Then only chennai will get real benefit of this smart city mission
