Dindigul City is located in the central part of Tamil Nadu famous for its traditional lock manufacturing industry. The City has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities in India. The City covers an area of 14.01 sq.km and divided into 48 wards with the population of 2,07,225. Dindigul Municipal Corporation is preparing the Smart City Proposal that will provide smart solutions to the urban infrastructure issues. In order to prepare the Smart City Proposal, the citizens of Dindigul City and other citizens are requested to post their views & opinion, how the services being provided by Dindigul Corporation pertaining to city’s basic infrastructure such as water supply, sanitation, Solid Waste Management, Storm Water Drainage, Housing, amenities related to recreational activities and Non-Motorized Transport, Security etc. It is essential to frame the Vision of Dindigul City and to get shortlisted in the Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

Let’s Join together in making Dindigul as a Smart City.

City limit is only 14sq.kms which can be extended for interconnection between rural and developed towns. Empty lands outside city can be used for urban development and trade centres like Sipcot can be enlarged to facilitate business. lock manufacturing should be given subsidies and export can be maximised. Import of China locks should be banned

Subway in railway junction is not used but almost railway track entry is used which is an offence.Escalators should be installed in junction.First platform is not being used for 3 years,so 2nd & 3rd platforms become very dirty and smelly

Only one flyover near the railway junction is built & is very old.New flyovers to be built to regularise traffic.Every traffic signal should be computerised and we have dummy signals ecerwhere.Signboards indicate wrong and confusing directions

First platform should be opened for public greviances.. People cross tracks which is not safe.Subway is not used properly.Escalators should be installed and computerised.Fine should be imposed heavily on all law breakers.

...contd3.. 3,Government Head Quarters Hospital, Dindigul is a boon for a dindigul corporation, which have ample space, yet to be used constructively for the sole purpose of public welfare, all public health monitoring should be carried under one umbrella, which is our Government Headquarters Hospital, a sole forum for all health needs of the public of dindigul. Even the state government provide some modern medical amenities and installation of new equipments is also noted...contd4..

2, Fly over: Byepass connecting karur to dindigul should construct an fly over to avoid traffic jam at time of railway gate timings a lag in traffic and there is chance of accident which make them hurry in crossing the railway gate, so a new flyover must be constructed for foreseeing and compensate the today and future needs...contd3..

1. Provide sufficient water supply and electricity facility
2. Provide road facility
3. provide education facility
4. Removal of EB post in the middle of the road and provide in the edges
