The Ganga is in a much cleaner condition in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand. But, this is also the region where there is an increase in tourism, particularly adventure tourism. This task invites your views on how to balance tourism development along with preservation of the natural ecosystem and cleanliness of the Ganga.
The road map for a clean Ganga could be started with developing a proper drainage network from industries, hospitals, institutions, houses, etc.they have to be connected to waste collecting tanks in each ward of the city, these are to be pumped via drainage network pipe to sewage collection centres and treatment plants located in convenient locations of the city and treated water is to be discharged to the river. The treatment plants may be located such as the waste load may be treated almost equally
*ALLOCATING PARTICULAR AREA AS AQUATIC LIFE SANTURIES JUST AS WILDLIFE SANCTURIES.
*INCREASING AWARENESS ABOUT CLEAN GANGA AMONG PEOPLE THROUGH ADVERTISEMENT ON RELIGIOUS CHANNELS.
*PROMOTING TOURISM THROUGH ADVERTISEMENT ON T.V ,RADIO AND SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES LIKE INCREDIBLE INDIA CAMPAIGN.
*DEVELOPING RIVERSIDE CITIES AS HUB OF MEDICARE (AYURVEDA) AND MEDITATION CENTER.
*WATER SPORTS AND BOATING IN GANGA.
Roadmap to promote tourism and keep Ganga clean is suggested in enclosed PDF file.
The Importance of Cleaning Ganga and my second invention regarding Purification of Ganga River is shown in the presentation attached with this post. It is an Portable machine which can be fitter over any Motor Boat or Ship and the boat must move above the waste floating over the surface of the river and it will get sucked by the machine.
By running the boat over the river complete waste can be collected and transported to the solid waste power plant for power generation.
Respected Sir,
I had attached herewith the post my proposal for cleaning ganga river and producing power from the solid waste recovered from it.
I’m an Indian, married to a German engineer. He deals with contaminated groundwater.
In Germany, pollution of rivers was common in 1980s. The river Rhine was so much polluted, that most of the fishes died and people avoided touching water.
The government started building everywhere sewage treatments, which gathered the whole wastewater, treated it and resupplied it to the rivers. After 30 years, rivers hv. become so clean, that even vulnerable animals started to resettle in the rivers.
tourism can be promoted, a museum at the banks of river ganga can be set up which stresse on the history and importance of river ganga. A world class institution for training and preaching the ancient yoga or yogic studies can be implemented at the calm banks of river ganga. A top class house boat facility with traditional indian authentic cusine can be set up . An excellent ayurvedic park consisting of rarest of the rarest rich medicinal value plant species can be set up.& water sport promotn.
Stopping ppl frm taking a bath in the HOLY GANGA RIVER is nearly impossible in INDIA..
so ..
1st - create a specific spot where ppl can take a bath..
(ppl go in ganga directly and take a dip..
instead create a bathing spot where... der would be GANGA's water but a specific place closed cleaned regularly with different sections like animals men n women this would solve 90% of our problem..
2nd - make cleaning boats.
(boats which would suck water like vacuum cleaner n send it back purified)
Heritage Building along the Ghats should be developed on PPP Model and renovated. Confidence of the owners needs to be won by offering them attractive model for participation. Such as alternate developed location for rehabilitation along with PPP model. Depending on suitability of each building these should be appropriately used for public activities to promote tourism.
Road map (1) Increase the prices of scraps viz., polythene, plastic bottles etc.(2) Use of biodegradable carry bags by Shops and hawkers (3) Complete Ban on production of polythene (4) mapping of Ganga from Gangotri till it reaches the sea (5) Unit wise planning for every source of pollutant by the concerned DM (6) Industry and District Administration to clean the pollutants from their areas. (7) Responsibility should be completely with concerned Govt. of the area (8) Multi level auditing.
